How to prepare your home for a deep clean
4 min read

A deep clean goes far beyond a regular tidy — baseboards, grout, appliance interiors, vents, and all the spots everyday cleaning misses. A little preparation beforehand means the team can spend their time on that detailed work instead of moving clutter around.
Before the team arrives
- Pick up clothes, toys, and loose items from floors and surfaces so every area is reachable.
- Clear countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms as much as you reasonably can.
- Secure pets in a comfortable room or yard, and let the team know about them.
- Point out priority areas — the spots that bother you most — so nothing gets missed.
- Make sure there's access to water and power, and a way in if you won't be home.
What you don't need to do
Don't pre-clean. That's the whole point. There's no need to scrub anything before a professional deep clean — the team brings the products, tools, and process. Your job is simply to make the space accessible.
After the clean
Walk through the home while everything is fresh in your mind. A good team wants to know if anything was missed, and it's much easier to touch up a spot on the day than a week later.
